iPhone Applications

Since the release of the iPhone, there have been a lot of great applications made available. Since the phones operating system was already jailbroken, meaning that users are able to put any application on their phone they want, there have been a plethora of applications being actively developed on. In this article I'll highlight a few of the applications that I use, and that I like.

First and foremost, the one I use most would be the Facebook application. It's pretty much a mobile front end to your Facebook page, you can update your status, view recent status changes, view photos of you and your friends and much more. The second application I use on a regular basis would have to be Twitterrific, as it is a front end for Twitter, and I use that quite regularly as well. Now outside of the social networking type applications, there is Where, as it locates things near you, like Starbucks, cheap gas and other events. There is also Local Picks which lists entertainment type things near you, mostly restaurants, but there are some things like movies theaters and the like.

Another application I use often is Safari. Now it's not a user made application as it ships with the iPhone, but it's really handy being able to surf the net anywhere you go. Another application that came with the phone was Maps, or Google Maps which is very handy when it comes to navigating your way around.

These are just a short list of applications that are available for the iPhone, there are [at the time or writing this] 15 and a half pages of free applications [editor note: all applications in this article are free]. I don't even know how many more there are that are not free, but most of them are games from what I can tell. If you do not have an iPhone, I would really suggest thinking about getting one, it has really revolutionized the way I handle day to day tasks.
