iPhone Woes

I've had the iPhone for a few months now, and everything with it is just awesome. Then I decided to reformat my computer, but I forgot to de-authorize my iTunes account on that computer, so when I had my computer up and running again, I had to re-activate my account, which used another of my five activations.
So to combat piracy, Apple limits you to five activations total. But you can de-authorize and account if you stop using a computer. Or if/when you hit the fifth one, you can de-authorize ALL computers on your account. Handy, but it does have it's draw backs. What if you use two other computers? You have to re-authorize both of those computers again. Fine, no big deal, but a pain in the ass.
So anyway, I authorized my iTunes at work so I could keep my phone updated, and all of a sudden all the applications start crashing on me as soon as they start. I figure a sync from the main computer would do it. No such luck. I then did a backup and restore and everything seemed to work fine. I stopped using my work computer for updating any applications and just used it to keep my phone charged.
The problem of the applications crashing returned and I had to do another restore. Well low and behold, now the very bottom of my screen doesn't respond to touching or tapping. What does this mean? It means I had to call the phone company, and go over their six-step process for resetting my phone to the factory defaults, which did not fix the problem either. So they are sending me a replacement iPhone free of charge, and then send my phone back, also free of charge. They are sending just the phone, and a pre-paid box to ship my old phone back in. All I do is swap SIM cards, and do a restore and I'm [theoretically] good to go!
I'm still waiting for my replacement phone, it should be here in the next few days, so I'll have to write about my experience about doing the swap and restore. All in all, the iPhone is a really nice phone, and besides a few minor annoyances, it's a fantastic phone to have.
