Ubuntu 8.10 Status Report
Submitted by m61 on Sun, 2008-11-23 02:50A few weeks ago, I upgraded to the newest Ubuntu, Ubuntu 8.10 and so far things have been rather smooth, not like the last update I did. If you remember, last updated to 8.04, I had no wireless access at all but I managed to get it working with some finesse and some helpful blog posts. This install went really really smooth.

Ubuntu 8.10 Install
Submitted by m61 on Sat, 2008-11-08 17:20Today I installed the new Ubuntu Linux to my laptop. Everyone remembers the issues I had with 8.04 [and if you don't, read some of my past stories on the subject, there are a few]. So far, the install has been very very smooth.

Ubuntu 8.04 and Media Keys
Submitted by m61 on Thu, 2008-07-03 12:10In my ongoing series of articles I've written about Ubuntu 8.04 I've described some of the issues I've had with it "out of the box" so to speak. Now don't get me wrong, with some tweaking I've managed to get everything fully functioning and running smoothly. Except my media keys on my HP laptop.

Email Issues
Submitted by m61 on Wed, 2008-06-18 10:42Recently I've been having an issue with my email server. For whatever reason I now have two processes running at about 49% each. The processes both belong to amavis and are running clamscan.

Ubuntu 8.04 First Impressions Revisited
Submitted by m61 on Sun, 2008-05-18 13:39A couple of weeks ago, I wrote and article detailing Ubuntu's latest release, Ubuntu 8.04 and some of the issues I was having with it. Well that's not to say I was the only one to have these issues. Turns out a lot of other people were having similar issues that I was having if not the same issues I was having.

Windows XP on OLPC?
Submitted by m61 on Fri, 2008-05-16 09:35I think everyone can agree that the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) has become a pretty big flop. Don't get me wrong, the idea behind it is great, get every kid in a developing (and perhaps a developed) country a laptop.

Ubuntu 8.04 First Impressions Follow Up
Submitted by m61 on Sat, 2008-04-26 10:56In my last post, I stated that there were some issues with the latest release of Ubuntu, namely 8.04 or Hardy Heron. But all is not lost!

Ubuntu 8.04 First Impressions
Submitted by m61 on Fri, 2008-04-25 22:13As everyone may (or may not, but I really really hope you do) know that the latest version of Ubuntu is out. 8.04 Hardy Heron is the code name and available from Ubuntu Website and for a desktop, it's worth the download and install. But it's not without it's issues.
