Ubuntu 8.10 Status Report

A few weeks ago, I upgraded to the newest Ubuntu, Ubuntu 8.10 and so far things have been rather smooth, not like the last update I did. If you remember, last updated to 8.04, I had no wireless access at all but I managed to get it working with some finesse and some helpful blog posts. This install went really really smooth.

Ubuntu 8.10 Install

Today I installed the new Ubuntu Linux to my laptop. Everyone remembers the issues I had with 8.04 [and if you don't, read some of my past stories on the subject, there are a few]. So far, the install has been very very smooth.

Ubuntu 8.04 and Media Keys

In my ongoing series of articles I've written about Ubuntu 8.04 I've described some of the issues I've had with it "out of the box" so to speak. Now don't get me wrong, with some tweaking I've managed to get everything fully functioning and running smoothly. Except my media keys on my HP laptop.

Ubuntu 8.04 First Impressions Revisited

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote and article detailing Ubuntu's latest release, Ubuntu 8.04 and some of the issues I was having with it. Well that's not to say I was the only one to have these issues. Turns out a lot of other people were having similar issues that I was having if not the same issues I was having.

Ubuntu 8.04 First Impressions

As everyone may (or may not, but I really really hope you do) know that the latest version of Ubuntu is out. 8.04 Hardy Heron is the code name and available from Ubuntu Website and for a desktop, it's worth the download and install. But it's not without it's issues.

Sun + Ubuntu = Good?

Sun Microsystems is soon going to start offering servers with Ubuntu Server installed on them. With all that Sun Microsystems has to offer, is this move worth it all?

Computer Trouble [Updated]

Here are some updates to my computer trouble. So I thought it was the hard drive. Turns out after I swapped out the old hard drive for a new hard drive, I still had the same problems. So what can it be? Motherboard?

Computer Trouble

About a month ago I started having some trouble with my desktop computer. The hard drive would go "click" and then the hard drive LED light would go solid, then the computer would slow down, then stop, and the only way to "revive" it was to restart the computer via the reset button.
